Compatible Voice Commands for Amazon Alexa and a Wi-Fi Connected Robot

Description

You can use voice commands with your Amazon Alexa voice assistant to clean on-demand, including starting or stopping cleaning, directing your robot to specific areas in your home, or performing other tasks such as scheduling an upcoming robot cleaning. Alexa connects to all of your iRobot® devices, giving you hands-free control for vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping.

Note: Alexa compatibility requires your robot and iRobot HOME App software versions to be up-to-date. Alexa supports the following commands with only one Wi-Fi connected robot (Roomba or Braava) connected to the iRobot® HOME App.

Single Robot

If more than one Roomba or Braava is connected to your iRobot HOME App, you will need to specify which robot you want Alexa to control. In the list below, replace (robot name) with the name of your desired robot. For the best voice experience, your should not contain numbers, special characters, or emojis.

Robots with Imprint™ Link Technology

Once your Roomba (i7, j7 and s9) and Braava (m Series) robots learn your space and you have customized your Smart Map, you can use Alexa and Imprint™ Link Technology to enable your robot mop to automatically begin mopping after your robot vacuum has completed vacuuming.

Robots with Imprint™ Smart Mapping Technology

Once Roomba or Braava has learned your space and you have customized your Smart Map, you can use your Alexa-enabled device to direct the cleaning of a specific room, zone, or object, as long as they have already been labeled in the iRobot HOME App.

Note:

If you do not specify a room in your voice command, Alexa will ask if you would like to clean all your rooms. Then Alexa will ask you to list the rooms you would like to clean, one at a time, and then say "Done" when finished. Alternatively, you can specify up to two (2) rooms in a single command, as listed in the examples below.
If you have multiple robots with Imprint™ Smart Maps, tell Alexa which robot you want to put to work.
