The Daily Caller reported:

Chiefs of staff for dozens of Democratic lawmakers who employed the four were informed last week that a criminal probe was underway into their use of congressional information technology systems, including the existence of an external server to which House data was being funneled, and into the theft of and overbilling for computer equipment.

Brothers Imran, Abid, and Jamal Awan and Hina Alvi, Imran’s wife, each made $160,000 a year as information technology workers for the House. Their salaries and time were shared among dozens of Democratic members, including former Democratic National Committee Chairman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida. The lawmakers also include members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Despite the generous salaries, the four were involved in multiple suspicious mortgage transfers and a debt-evading bankruptcy. Abid had more than $1 million in debts following a failed business called Cars International that he ran in Falls Church, Va., from November 2009 to September 2010. Business associates said in court documents that Abid had stolen money and vehicles from them.

Bill to Break Up the 9th Circuit Gains Steam in Congress

According to Fox News, a bill to break up the 9th Circuit’s geographical purview was gaining some traction in Congress, with Arizona’s two Republican senators pushing legislation that would carve six states out of the San-Francisco-based court’s jurisdiction to create a new 12th Circuit.

The bill, which was introduced last month by Sens. Jeff Flake and John McCain, would put the states of Nevada, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Arizona and Alaska in the new court. In an interview with Fox on Wednesday, Flake said the legislation’s aim isn’t political, but instead aimed at addressing long backlogs in the court.

Muslim Brotherhood Major Threat in Germany

Germany’s Stephan Kramer, head of the regional office of the Protection of the Constitution in Thuringia, said that Islamic extremists and neo-Nazi terrorists are “advancing without impunity” throughout Germany’s eastern states.

Kramer stated that the “right-wing extremist underground” are becoming a “nationwide” problem. 

According to RT.com, Kramer added, “We are getting tip-offs leading to terrorist suspects every day” and explained that they have to spend extra time trying to distinguish between actual suspects and false alarms.

Gordian Meyer-Plath, head of Saxony’s domestic intelligence, sent out an alert that The Muslim Brotherhood, which is considered a multi-national terrorist group by Bahrain, Russia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, was seeking to buy real estate to, essentially, “monopolize” mosques to increase its influences in Germany.

According to a New York Times article, Trump administration advisors are in the process of reviewing the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp. and Quds Force, for designation as terrorist organizations.

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 in Egypt and its ancillary groups are located in the middle eastern countries of Turkey and Tunisia.

The Muslim Brotherhood preaches a society where Islamic law rules and it is this philosophy that has the Trump administration concerned.

Florida Lawmakers Introduce Bill Banning ‘Sanctuary’ Cities–with Penalties

Florida Republican lawmakers have introduced legislation that will target “sanctuary” cities and counties, along with the elected officials that support them, that don’t cooperate with federal enforcement of immigration law.

Sen. Aaron Bean (R-Fernandina Beach) and Rep. Larry Metz (R-Yalaha) introduced SB 786 and HB 697, known as the “Rule of Law Adherence Act,” Wednesday in Tallahassee, the Miami Herald reported.

The bills seek to ban “sanctuary policies” in Florida and create fines and penalties for state agencies, local governments, or law enforcement agencies that use these policies and don’t comply with federal immigration law.

“The one thing that everybody should know in our country is: We can’t choose which laws we’ll obey or which laws we don’t obey,” said Bean.
